Careers and other opportunities:

KCRC offers various opportunities to individuals and other organizations both within and outside of Uganda. Such opportunities include Volunteering, Research, Fellowship, employment, etc.

Volunteering:

KCRC welcomes people who would like to volunteer. The areas of volunteerism include: medical professionals, HIV/AIDS counselling, community/social work, and data management.

Research:

KCRC experience in HIV/AIDS work has made it become a fertile ground for research to both individuals and organizations. Over the years KCRC has had important research partnerships with other organizations to add on the body of knowledge in HIV/AIDS management. We also welcome students and individuals who would like to do research at KCRC.

KCRC has built up a workforce of over 80 staff and volunteers. Time and again KCRC recruits competent professionals to fill in vacant positions and new ones. Human Resource Manager:

Reporting to the Medical Director, this role is responsible for implementing Human Resource actions, annual reviews, staff recruitment and selection, employee labour relations, health and safety procedures. S/he will need to develop professional working relationships throughout the organisation and gain the confidence and commitment of the team members.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Plan, develop and implement strategy for HR management and development [including recruitment and selection policy/practices, discipline, grievance, remuneration, training and development, succession planning, morale and motivation, culture and attitudinal development, performance appraisals)
  2. Develop and implement human resource policies and procedures to ensure HR practises are in line wild industry norms and enables the employer to achieve its strategic objective
  3. Manage the employer remuneration policy to ensure fair compensation and benefits to staff
  4. Oversee the development and implementation of the employer’s training and development programme
  5. Coordinate staff communication and performance managemen
  6. Advise and assist management in its recruitment and staff exit management
  7. Develop and coordinate staff plans in conjunction with heads of departments
  8. Oversee the management of staff welfare programmes, safety, wellness and health, charitable giving; and employee services and counseling
  9. General administrative duties

Requirement:

Qualifications and skills required

  • Degree in Human Resources Management, social sciences etc
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management or a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management
  • At least 3-5 years continuous experience in human resources management

Dental Officer:

Key responsibilities:

  1. Planning for public dental health services in the Hospital and the community
  2. Diagonising, treating and managing oral/dental health patients.
  3. Maintaining medical equipment and infrastructure.
  4. Compiling and submitting reports

Requirement:

Qualifications and skills required

  • Must have a Diploma in Public Health dendist from a recognized institution.
  • Must be registered with Allied professionals council.
